West Oaks Hospital

West Oaks children’s mental health services are designed for children ages 5 to 12 with emotional and behavioral problems that interfere with daily life. They may express these issues in a variety of ways such as impulsive or defiant behaviors, inability to concentrate, extreme or prolonged mood swings or physical aggression. The adolescent mental health services are specifically designed for teens ages 13 to 17 who experience emotional and psychological problems that interfere with daily life. Harris County Psychiatric Center

e provide a supportive environment for children (age 3-12) and adolescents (age 13-17), where they and their families have an opportunity to better understand their illness and begin learning skills to better cope with life-issues that may threaten their mental health. Their treatment team focuses on the assessment and stabilization of those in all levels of crisis, within a safe, secure, structured, and small group milieu.
